LaSata encourages support for America’s Vietnam veterans

LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Kim LaSata on Wednesday encouraged area residents to join the national efforts and recognize Vietnam Veterans Day in Michigan.

“Many Michigan veterans served honorably during the Vietnam War era and many continue to serve their communities with the same courage they did while in uniform,” said LaSata, R-Niles. “These heroes are part of our nation’s history and they deserve proper recognition for their service and the terrible sacrifices many made on behalf of our country.”

Over seven million American men and women served during the Vietnam War era.

LaSata encouraged everyone to recognize March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Day and show their gratitude for the service of Vietnam veterans and commemorate their service.

“It is important that we honor their commitment to our country, but what is most important is that we give them the recognition they deserve, and that many, unfortunately, never received when they returned home,” LaSata said.
