LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Kim LaSata announced on Wednesday the promotion of Legislative Director Katherine Lindt-Witkowski to serve as her new chief of staff.
“I am delighted to announce Katie as my new chief of staff,” said LaSata, R-Bainbridge Township. “As a native of our district, she has a connection to and understanding of our communities, and her prior legislative experience will serve us well as we tackle the big issues affecting our region and state.”
Witkowski, of Grand Ledge, is a native of Berrien Springs and has served as LaSata’s legislative director since January. She has worked in numerous legislative roles, having previously served for six years as deputy legislative director for former Sen. Goeff Hansen; as legislative assistant to former Rep. Andrea LaFontaine; and as the director of development and government affairs assistant for the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association.
Witkowski holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, both from Grand Valley State University.
“While I am excited for Katie to begin her new role, I would also like to thank my outgoing chief of staff, Stephanie Bogema, for all she has done for me and the people of Southwest Michigan,” LaSata said. “I wish her the best of luck as she begins the next chapter of her career.”
